Password Changes and You

As you're probably aware, MPS now requires password changes every 90 days.  Here's a few things you'll need to know.  Mac users- be sure to read the section on keychains below.

• You can change your password at any time you would like- simply go to the ehelpdesk, log in as normal, and select "Change Password" (icon of a lock and key).


Whether you're changing on your own, or because of the 90 day rule, the following information applies.

Your new password MUST CONTAIN:

 • At least 8 characters

 • One uppercase letter

 • One lowercase letter

 • One numeral (0-9) or Nonalphanumeric character: ~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/

Further, it CANNOT CONTAIN your user name or real name.


Macintosh Users:

After you change your password on a Macintosh you may be asked to update your keychain password

• Click Update Keychain Password and type your OLD PASSWORD. This will update the keychain. If you skip this step, you will be pestered by the system about the login keychain incessantly.
