Family Update Nov 14, 2021
November 14, 2021
Hi Windom families. The weather has turned and it feels like it’s cold and dark most of the time. It’s a good thing our students shine so bright in school to show the way! We had a busy week last week with the fun run and this week should calm down a bit. There’s a lot here, please read all the way to the end as there is a lot of important information.
APEX Fun Run:
Thank you to all who donated, reached out to get donations, and supported your kids throughout the whole process. While the total donation is being finalized, I can tell you it was a great success and even though it was cold, it was dry, and the kids had fun.
Girls on the Run:
This weekend was the 5K race for our Girls on the Run Fall program. Our girls did awesome. Thank you to Alicia Hempel for coaching and everyone else who supported our program. If you would be interested in coaching the Spring program, please let me know.
COVID Vaccine Clinic:
We are hosting a vaccine clinic, in collaboration with Kenny and Armatage Community Schools on Thursday from 4:30-7:30. You will need to make an appointment to get vaccinated. Please do so ASAP as the time slots may fill up. Here is the sing up link: Vaccine Clinic Sign Up. An email with all the information was sent on Friday morning. Reach out to the school if you have any questions.
PTO Meeting/ Give to the Max:
The next meeting has been changed to accommodate the vaccine clinic and will take place Thursday, 11/18 at 8pm. This is an important meeting as we will be re-introducing the new board nominees to be voted on, as well as voting on the slate of nominees. We will also discuss plans for how we will use the fundraising dollars that we have received. Below is the meeting link:
Or Telephone: 833 548 0276 (Toll Free) or 833 548 0282 (Toll Free) or 877 853 5247 (Toll Free)
Give to the Max day is November 18th. Donations can be made from now until the end of the day Thursday. This is a great way to support your school and invite your networks to do the same. Here is the direct donate link to use and share!
-Potential employer match
-Easy to forward on to relatives and ask for support
-Relatively low fee structure (6.9% for credit card processing and Give MN operations)
Note: if you have an employer or business in mind who may be interested in supporting a matching program, please contact WindomTreasurer@gmail.
I’ve heard that an email went out last week stating that all students should be bringing their devices to and from school every day in the event of inclement weather and e-learning, unless you have a device at home. I didn’t get that email
