Lucia Anderson

Hi my name is Lucia Anderson. I was recently married this past summer.

This is my fifth year of teaching at Windom and its been the most amazing past four years meeting the kids, parents and staff. I  am really looking forward to another great year.

I was born in Bogotá, Colombia. My mother was also a teacher and she was the principal in her own school. My father was a business executive and is currently retired. I also have a younger brother who is a veterinarian.

I studied at the Universidad Pedagogical National in Bogotá, Colombia; a university for teachers. My degree is Spanish and Modern Languages.

After receiving my degree and teaching license, I participated in a teaching fellowship certificate program in Ceuta, a city located in Morocco. This is a part of Africa that belongs to Spain. I completed my student teaching in Granada, Spain. Then, I returned to Colombia where I worked as a teacher while completing a graduate program in computers and multimedia. I participated in many professional development workshops on effective and research based education strategies for teaching.

I have been teaching  Spanish, Science, Social Studies and Math in Spanish full time  for the past eight years in the United States and I have taught at Windom since 2011.  Also I have continued with my professional development by completing courses in the graduate education program at Hamline University. On 2012,  I obtained my Minnesota Teaching License at Hamline University as well.

I hope that this short autobiography will help you to learn a little bit more about me.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the trust, support, and the opportunity of teaching and taking care of your kids.

Regards,

Lucia Anderson
