Classroom Management/Discipline-Windom uses the Responsive Classroom philosophy in working with students in grades k-5. The intention of the program is to include the following:
Create a tone of warmth and safety
Model and follow through on routines and procedures and set clear expectations
Introduce students to the physical environment and materials of the classroom.
Establish expectations about the ways in which we will learn together during the year.
Our interventions are as follows: classroom rules are modeled and expected to be followed during the first 6 weeks.
If expectations are not followed:
1. teacher reminder
2. take a break/send to buddy classroom if necessary
3. student/teacher conference
4. note/call home
5. child sent to the principal/parent involvement/more interventions put in place.
